Introduction to War of Gods
Kellwar is a mystic land full of many strange beings. You can find here humans, dwarves or elves but also orcs and minotaurs. The whole land is divided into two parts. Western part called Alberon is under protection of powerful entities serving to the principle of Law. The eastern part known as Shadowlands is inhabited only by evil races and creatures.
The War Between Light and Darkness
There is a constant war between the good and evil races of the world. This means that there is an unrestricted playerkilling between the both sides.
The players are split up on these sides and live in their respective parts of the world - Alberon or Shadowlands. They cannot see each others names when they meet, nor can they see the names of players of opposite side in the “who list” or speak to them through “tells” or “shouts”.
A good raced player, commonly called 'whittie' who runs into an evil raced player, commonly called 'darkie' will see the other player's description with the name replaced by the evil's race enclosed in *.
When you kill someone from the other side of the war you gain reputation in the form of warpoints and when you have enough warpoints you may advance into the warlist.
You will find more details about sides here.
An Overview of the World
The world of Kellwar is based on medieval fantasy much like the Lord of the Rings books written by Tolkien. War of Gods is, however, original and unique, consisting only of places and characters made up by the creators of the game. One of the main goals for the staff of War of Gods is to be original, and to not steal things from other fantasy themes. Although some basic things are found in many other themes like elves, dwarves, halflings (similar to Tolkien's hobbits) and magic users.
